This midsize SUV not only has a sleek and beautiful design, but it’s got everything you need to make life convenient. If you think the new 2021 Chevy Traverse might be the perfect vehicle for you, then keep reading. In this article, we’ll tell you all about its trims and more!
Choose From 7 Trims
What’s great about the new 2021 Chevy Traverse is that you get 7 trims to choose from! They are L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country. Curious about what each one offers? Then read on, as you’ll get a full picture of each below.
L Trim
While the L trim is the standard trim, you won’t have to worry about it being barebones. Chevrolet always aims to please, and you’ll certainly be pleased with their base trim for the Traverse! Here, you’ll get a V6 engine capable of 310 HP with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It comes standard with front-wheel drive too. Inside, the features you’ll find include a rearview camera, tri-zone automatic climate control, and the Teen Driver safety system. For the infotainment system, enjoy the Infotainment 3 system with a 7-inch touchscreen. It’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot, and 6 USB ports.
LS Trim
This next trim is remarkably like the L trim, as it comes standard with everything it has. However, one of the most notable differences is that you can upgrade to all-wheel drive here. So, if this is something important to you, you might want to think of getting the LS instead of the L trim. It’s worth it to note that starting from the LS trim, you’ll have the option to choose all-wheel drive for all trims. Another difference is you can get a rear-seat entertainment system. If you’re constantly driving your kids around, this might be a good addition. The LS trim also adds some styling packages to choose from, which the L trim doesn’t have.
LT Cloth Trim
The LT Cloth trim offers comfortable cloth upholstery, as the name suggests. It comes standard with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, 2nd-row captain’s chairs, and a power lift gate. For the infotainment system, you’ll get an 8-inch touchscreen and satellite radio. What’s great about the LT Cloth trim is it comes standard with quite a few safety features. They are blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want more safety features, you can opt for the Driver Confidence II package. This includes: Heated steering wheel, Forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, Front pedestrian braking, and Lane keep assist. You can also choose to add the LT Premium package. This adds a surround-view parking camera system, rear camera mirror, and 10-speaker Bose sound system.
LT Leather Trim
If you want more luxurious upholstery, consider the LT Leather trim. In addition to leather upholstery, you’ll also get a power-adjustable passenger seat. Considering the LT Leather trim is the same as the previous one, you’ll get all the standard features with that trim as well. The same upgrades are available too.
RS Trim
Next on the trim list is the RS one, which comes with all the standard features from the previous trims. However, it also comes standard with leather upholstery, rear camera mirror, surround-view parking camera system, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system. If you want to add a rear-seat entertainment system to your vehicle, you can certainly do so with the RS trim for an extra fee.
Premier Trim
With the Premier trim, you’re really getting into the finer things in life when it comes to the new 2021 Chevrolet Traverse! Again, it’ll come with everything that’s standard with the lower trims. You’ll also enjoy leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated 2nd-row seats, wireless device charging, and a hands-free power liftgate. Everything will be comfortable and convenient!
High Country Trim
The highest-tier trim you can get for the new 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is the High Country trim. Of course, it comes with all standard features, and then some. More specifically, you’ll get the addition of power-folding 3rd-row seats and adaptive cruise control. What’s special about the High Country trim is you’ll get some extra trailering equipment too. So, if you’re an adventurer, this can be very handy to have!
Safety Ratings
At the time of writing, the new 2021 Chevy Traverse has not yet been rated by either the NHTSA or the IIHS. However, we’d say it’s safe to base this model’s safety on the 2020 model. With the 2020 Chevy Traverse, it received an overall safety rating of 5 out of 5 stars from the NHTSA and Good ratings across the board from the IIHS. Considering there are no major changes to the vehicle itself for 2021, you can expect the newest model to get the same ratings. This means you and your passengers will be very safe while you’re on the road.
