The New 2021 Chevrolet Trax

New 2021 Chevrolet Trax

Like the look and power of a full-size SUV, but want a vehicle that’s small enough to maneuver easily? Then you’re probably suited to drive a subcompact SUV. There are many choices out there, but you can’t go wrong with the new 2021 Chevrolet Trax. This subcompact SUV comes from a brand that’s been around since 1911, which means Chevy has certainly made its mark on American history.

So, by going with Chevrolet, you’re going with an all-American brand. And as a result, you’re choosing quality. Want to hear more about the new 2021 Chevrolet Trax? Then keep reading. We’ll tell you everything you need to know!

The Trims Available

With other cars, your head might be swimming with trim choices. But not with the new 2021 Chevrolet Trax. Here, you’ll have just 2 choices: LS and LT. This should make things a lot easier for you. Below, we’ll show you what each trim comes with.

LS Trim

“Basic trim” usually means basic, but that’s definitely not the case with the LS trim. This affordable trim option comes with plenty of features, which means you’ll get the most bang for your buck. The LS trim has you and your passengers sitting on soft cloth upholstery. The front seats are manually adjustable, and you’ll also benefit from a rearview camera and remote keyless entry.

For the infotainment system, you’ll enjoy a clear 7-inch touchscreen. You can use both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on it. Additional features include 2 USB ports, Bluetooth, wifi hotspot, satellite radio, and 6 speakers. The LS trim comes standard with front-wheel drive. But if you want all-wheel drive, that’s no issue. You can get it by paying a little extra.

LT Trim

Want more than what the LS trim offers? Then no problem, as the LT trim will give you plenty more. And you don’t have to pay that much more either! With the LT trim, you’ll get deluxe cloth upholstery. Additional features include:
• Heated outside mirrors
• Remote start
• Cruise control

What sets the LT trim apart from the LS trim is the fact that you can opt for additional packages if you wish. For example, there’s the Driver Confidence package. This adds rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and blindspot monitoring.

Another package you can opt for is the Premium Seat package. You’ll say goodbye to cloth upholstery and will receive synthetic leather material instead. You’ll also get heated front seats for those cold winter days.

Lastly, you can also add the LT Convenience package. As the driver, you’ll enjoy a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. It’s definitely worth considering if you spend a lot of time behind the wheel. Like with the LS trim, the LT trim comes standard with front-wheel drive. But for a small amount of money, you can upgrade to all-wheel drive if you wish.

Plenty of Inside Space

If you’re always on the road, then you want to make sure that both you and your passengers stay comfortable, whether it’s for a 10-minute drive or a 10-hour road trip. What’s great is that the 2021 Chevrolet Trax interior offers everyone plenty of space. This rings true for anyone from your children to the tallest passenger, as there’s plenty of leg and headroom.

In addition, you’ll get a solid amount of cargo space. Behind the rear seats, you’ll get 18.7 cubic feet of space. If you fold the rear seats down, then that increases to 48.4 cubic feet. Still don’t have enough room? No worries. You can then fold down your front passenger seat to get some extra cargo room!

A Solid Engine

For the powertrain, you can expect the 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It’s capable of 138 HP, which makes it an excellent subcompact SUV for driving in the city. Thanks to this engine, you can count on the new 2021 Chevrolet Trax to provide you with a smooth move.

And because of its size and tight turning radius, you can expect it to maneuver easily into tight spaces, which can be very useful if you’re constantly trying to scout out parking spaces that are just the perfect size for a smaller SUV.

Good Fuel Economy

For any car owner, a main concern is how much money they need to allocate toward gas. After all, a vehicle can have an attractive price but then totally drain your bank account if it has poor fuel economy.

The good news is, despite being an SUV, the 2021 Chevy Trax won’t be a financial drain! It gets about 26 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway with front-wheel drive. And with all-wheel drive, it’ll get around 24 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. This should give you peace of mind if you were worried about fuel economy in the long run.

Stay Safe on the Road

The IIHS has given the new 2021 Chevrolet Trax Good ratings for all categories. The exception is the “Small overlap front: passenger-side,” which they rated Acceptable. The NHTSA hasn’t given their ratings on the 2021 Trax just yet. However, for the 2020 model, they did give it a 5 out of 5 for its overall safety rating. So it’s safe to assume that the 2021 Chevy Trax is just as safe.
