The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD was expected to be a full refresh but the Covid-19 pandemic caused delays pushing it back a year. The 2023 truck looks a lot like the 2022 lineup, except for a few tweaks here and there.
The 2023 Silverado 2500 comes with a standard 6.6L V8 engine with 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission.
However, you can opt for a 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine with 445 hp and 910 lb-ft. of torque, and comes with Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Work Truck comes with the standard 6.6L V8 engine and a 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission. The gas engine has 401 horsepower and 464 l-ft of torque. You can choose between 2WD and 4WD, and if you need more horsepower, go for the 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine. This trim comes with other impressive features, such as Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with a 7” diagonal color screen. There’s also a 6-speaker audio system, StabiliTrak, an electronic stability control system, six airbags, and a configurable Teen Driver feature.

The Custom trim is almost like the WT except for a few differences. It has the same 6.6L V8 Gas engine with 401 horsepower, 464 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.73 rear axle ratio. Like the Work Truck, it also comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive gear for efficient operation and Auto Grade raking.
The highlight features in the Custom trim include a body-color styling theme and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with Grazen Metallic-painted accents. It’s also available in Crew Cab and Double Cab models.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD LT
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD LT trim has everything in the Custom trim plus a few other additions. The additional features make it more comfortable, such as power windows, alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, remote keyless entry, cruise control, power locks, power windows, and cloth seats.
The four-wheel drive trim comes with 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, chrome jumpers, and an EZ Lift tailgate with a power lock and release. It’s available in regular, crew, and double cab configurations. If you’re looking for a truck with complete stability and classic appeal, the LT trim is ideal.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD High Country trim is like no other. At the end of the spectrum, this trim is both luxurious and capable. It’s only available as a crew cab, with 4WD. Its standard features include ventilated seats, a premium audio system, blind-spot monitoring, surround-view camera, running boards, and heated rear seats.
The High Country trim has other highlight features not available in other trims, such as a unique grille with bronze and chrome accents, 20” polished aluminum wheels, and a Jet Black or Jet Black/Umber interior color.
